April 2, 2012, Emily Townsend, RPT will be giving a presentation, subject yet to be announced. Emily is a graduate of The North Bennet Street School in Boston and currently has a tuning business and rebuilding facility in San Antonio.  Emily has done some museum quality piano restorations.  Go to her web site, and see some of the excellent work coming out of her facility <www.townsendpiano.com>. The meeting will be held at UT’s Butler School of Music in room 3M 3.113.  M = Mezzanine, between floors two and three. The meeting starts at 7:30 PM and may run until 9:00 PM.

May 5, 2012, Once again, Bernard Mollberg, Associate will be opening the doors to his unique piano restoration facility in beautiful Blanco, Texas. Bernard has decades of restoration experience, and his facility and staff are producing museum quality work.  Bernard has restored some 25 pianos for UT so I have seen, tuned, and maintained pianos he’s restored. Bernard is a true craftsman, and his workmanship is truly evident in every piano he’s restored.  Those of you who attended his open house last April surely know of what I speak. Go to www.mollbergpiano.com to see Bernard’s web site. We will have more information on starting time, and directions to Bernard’s facility early in April. Stay tuned, folks!

Many thanks to Tom Seay, Emily Townsend, and Bernard Mollberg for offering to share their time and piano prowess!  Your generosity helps us all become better Piano Technicians! And, isn’t that what the PTG is all about!

If any members would like to give a presentation at out chapter meeting, or have ideas on a subject for upcoming meetings, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

I look forward to seeing you at these presentations, and here’s to a great 2012!

Respectfully,

Linn Roath, RPT
