Next Meeting: Monday, May 7th, 2007 7:30 PM UT Music building M3.112
Coming Up Soon:
Our National Convention is June 20th through the 24th in Kansas City. Council will meet
the 18th and 19th. Since this is our last chapter meeting before the convention, we will discuss the proposals to the by-laws so our delegate can represent us well. There are
small and not-so-small proposals. They should be included in your next journal as a supplement. Please review them and bring your opinions to this meeting. Topics are:
Proposal 1: Graphics Standards Manual Revision Proposal 2: Registered Piano Technician Logo Proposal 3: Awards
Proposal 4: Exam Record Keeping Proposal 5: Membership Proposal 6: Disciplinary Code Proposal 7: Obligations of Membership Proposal 8: Officer Nominations
On a more inspiring note, part of PTG's long-range plan (also printed in the journal supplement) includes:
Increase member participation in professional development. Promote the value of Guild standards and credentials.
Encourage members to utilize/attain RPT status. Utilize volunteer resources efficiently to maximize productivity. Encourage mentoring in all its forms.
Our Austin PTG chapter, like all chapters, are important to the whole of the PTG. We hope
you can take some time to think about these issues, and that you'll continue to participate actively in your organization.
Also, it is election time for our chapter. Steve Walthall and Joe Dunn have consented to
continue as President and Sec/Tres respectively, if so voted. Byron Walters concedes his office of vice president, due to the inconvenience of travel from his home in San Antonio.
We will need to elect a new vice-president.
If there is time, we will bed a key frame and discuss how this affects the piano and how
humidity can change key frame bedding.
Last Meeting
Our time at Bernard's shop was great, with an overview of grand rebuilding. The food was
wonderful, and it was great to see everybody. Michelle Smith took some great photos, and has posted them on Snapfish. Point your browser to:

into your browser window. You'll have to create an account with Snapfish, but it's quick and absolutely free.
Many thanks to Bernard and Malissa for a wonderful day!
