The Austin Chapter PTG will be meeting tomorrow night, March 3, 2009, at the
UT School of Music in MRH 2.604 at 7:30 PM. We will be discussing aural checks for treble and bass and reviewing the checks for the middle of the piano. Also some related
discussion on tuning.
"Standards of Perfection in Piano Work" - April 6, 2009
Emily Kaitz will be our speaker for next month’s meeting.
Former Austin Chapter PTG Member and RPT who defected to Arkansas in
January of 1998 and at that time resigned in good standing from the Guild will talk briefly about her background and her present life as a piano technician, her continuing love and commitment to piano work on all types of pianos and for all types of customers. Emily's other career is that of a singer-songwriter, and it is possible she might inflict a song or two upon the Guild membership. She very much looks forward to seeing everyone, and she may bring up an embarrassing story or two from the past, so watch out!
